4-Rule
5-Vernier

How to read the measurement

Here we are in the presence of a 1/50th of a mm slide caliber. That is to say that between 2 graduations of the vernier, there are 0.02mm

1. Locate the number present before the 0 of the Vernier (Here 1 so 10mm)

2. Then locate the graduation of the vernier aligned with graduation of the ruler (Here 32 so 0.32 mm)

3. Then add 1 and 2

so 10 + 0.32 = 10.32 mm

Possible measures

Between 2 external parallel planes
Between 2 interior parallel planes
Diameter of an outer cylinder (Shaft)
Diameter of an inner cylinder (Bore)
